Small Biz Holiday Gift Guide

My Instagram feed has been in holiday mode since November 1, which, as someone who starts listening to Christmas music before Halloween, is a dream come true. I never get sick of the holiday spirit no matter how early it starts, but I've lived with "no Christmas until after Thanksgiving" people my whole life so my celebrating had to be kept under wraps... until today! My time has finally come, and I am ready to shine.

One of the reasons I'm so Christmas-obsessed is because it's always a busy time for my graphic design services (I offer custom holiday card designs each year). Recently, I saw a quote that said "when you buy from a small business, a real person does a happy dance" and I've been thinking about it for days. I've been so fortunate with the people who have chosen to take a chance on me and support my little business over the last few years. I think everyone knows it's much easier to order something pre-designed from Minted or Zazzle, but every once in a while people choose me. And every time, I actually do a little happy dance.

I've rounded up a bunch of holiday gift ideas from 10 of my favorite small businesses. You can shop my favorite pieces from their collections, and I've linked all of their Instagrams below. Many of them are having some Black Friday specials, so get to shopping!

This shop is so on trend without being tacky, a rare and beautiful ability. Celeste of Lemon Made Shop is talented in many ways, from delivering stunning craftsmanship to each of her pieces, to coming up with the eccentric designs and sayings on each hoop. Think of how much love is in each of the billion stitches! Her hoop art is a fun gift for a nursery, classroom, dorm room, office, bedroom... basically anywhere with an empty spot on the wall. Check her out and show her some Insta love! She's one of my favorite people to follow.

Here's a little something for all you fur mamas (and papas) out there. My cat, Benjamin Linus, is incredibly pampered, but one thing he's missing is a stylish bed. Fi and Mimi make cozy dog beds out of unique fabrics, such as authentic Mexican blanket covers. I love the texture, the size, the colors, the price point, and most importantly, the sweet model. Each of the links below will show you the many different fabric options you have for each style.

Scoop one of these up for your stylish pet-loving bestie this year!

All I want for Christmas is Mod North + Co ornaments and garland. I've never seen pieces like this before, and I think they're the perfect fancy gift for your cool eclectic friend/cousin/sister/etc. These things pack a major punch, and I honestly had a hard time picking the 3 favorites that I chose. Shop the site yourself, there is definitely something for everyone.

There is a 20% off Black Friday sale if you order from the website, so treat yoself (or a loved one!)

Remarque is a boutique interior design shop selling pillows, artwork, clocks, lighting, and eco fireplaces. Each product is quirky, well-priced, and unique, and fun fact: this company is owned by my boss! The clocks are a great office gift for a workspace, the eco fireplaces are such a cool alternative if your apartment doesn't have a real deal fireplace, and everybody needs more throw pillows. Check out the site here to shop.

Casey, the owner of Rescued Living, is a friend of mine and a total #bosslady. Rescued Living is a super eclectic shop curated by a true Oregon girl, filled with rich textures, salvaged furniture, and unique gift ideas. Almost everything in the store is Oregon made, and much of it is created and refurbished with her own two hands! She was the first person to stock my greeting cards, so she's got a special place in my heart, and anyone who steps foot in her store will find something they love.

Check out her website to see the goodies currently in her shop. She's doing a Black Friday giveaway: for every $25 purchase you will be entered to win a beautiful Pendleton pillow. The winner will be announced by 5:30 PM, so get your shop on!

I first discovered Patterson Lane Leather at Rescued Living (seen in the second picture), and I've been eyeing that wine colored Olive crossbody for months now. The quality of the leather is seriously stunning, and I haven't seen a piece from their collection that I don't love. A sturdy leather tote is a great gift for anyone, especially students or travel bugs.

Andrea is an amazing metalsmith specializing in ethical and beautiful handmade jewelry. She made my engagement ring, and my fiancé still raves about her customer service. The diamond industry is a topic I won't get into on this happy holiday post (do your research!) but Andrea has insanely beautiful and unique handmade pieces that are totally guilt-free. The 14k metals are recycled, and the stones she sources are ethically created/found. Her pieces would be an awesome gift for a daughter, niece, girlfriend, super spoiled best, what?

Shipping is free over $300 AND she's having a Black Friday sale, so check her out!

Heidi from The River Haze Shop is a super talented fiber artist and weaver. Her pieces are structured as well as earthy, and that's a winning combination in my book. I'm drawn to her super clean pieces, but you really need to see her shop for yourself because she has a few different styles, all beautiful. Wall hangings are having a huge moment right now, as is macrame, so grab these while they're still hot!

And how cute are these little holiday ornaments with fringe? They're under $20!

I actually just found this awesome Instagram account the other day, and I had no idea what I was missing. Zartiques is a furniture store, describing themselves as "curated spaces of vintage goods + Persian rugs." That's right, they source those beautiful vintage rugs we all hope to find on our local Craigslist. This is so much easier than spending years scavenging all of the Goodwills and Savers in your area (although I do love a good thrift hunt), and the best part is that the prices are very fair. Original vintage rugs can be well over $2,000, but most of these are under $500.

And this place doesn't stop at rugs; there are vintage finds from all over stocked on their website and Instagram, and if you're in North Carolina they've even got a store!

P.S.--somebody PLEASE get this Midcentury lamp stand. It's perfect.

BlancLaine makes gorgeous wall hangings, ornaments, and pilllows. I am super into the macrame wall hanging trend, but BlancLaine's fluffy cozy textures are next level. I just want to snuggle up in that thick yarn! And don't even get me started on the mini wall hanging ornaments. Her style is instantly recognizable to me, and that's something I always admire in an artist. Give her shop a browse and you'll see what I mean! The girl's got talent.

That concludes this year's holiday gift guide! I hope I've inspired you to spoil the ones you love, and support small businesses! Speaking of, I'm still offering my custom holiday card design services for another week or so. Contact me here or enter your email in the little pop-up when you pull up my website!
